Scourge Sequel

With the end of The Fractured Peace in sight, I thought I’d get started on the sequel to Scourge of the Vector.

Originally intended as a stand-alone sci-fi short story, the potential to extend my fictional universe was far too tempting to pass up. Therefore, the series has been aptly titled: Hostile Universe.

The first book was set on a distant planet, where my chief antagonists, The Vector, caused all manner of trouble for the terraformers and protagonists of my story. I absolutely loved writing it as I set out to engineer a fictional world that was both bleak and hopeless.

I also tried to steer away from the predictable (as much as possible) where good easily overcomes evil without any meaningful casualties, but at the same time, I didn’t want to start swinging a hatchet willy-nilly which would render any protagonists I conjure up meaningless.

The outline for book 2, currently under the working title: The Hollow Ship, will take place directly after the events of Scourge. I’m happy with the plot so far. It’s as fast-paced and action-packed as its predecessor with plenty of twists and turns which I think you’ll enjoy.

I’ll keep you all updated as it progresses.

As for Knights of the Hour book 2, this week I’ve created a wedding ceremony, a military initiation process, and introduced the holy men of my fictional world which I really enjoyed writing. As this is my largest novel so far, it’s taking a little longer than I’d hoped… it’ll be worth it, I promise.

Hope you all have a great weekend and take care.
